Being a new Murrieta Family Photographer means I’ve had the exciting (and sometimes challenging) task of discovering fresh and unique outdoor locations for my sessions. When you’re new to an area, it takes some time to find those hidden gems that make portraits magical. Thankfully, I found one that quickly became my absolute favorite!
Nestled here in the Murrieta/Temecula area, this location has everything I could dream of for a family session. There are a variety of backdrops that give us so many looks in one session—open fields, rustic fences, and soft, natural light that flatters every family I work with. But the true star of this spot? The barn. I can’t get over the character and charm it adds to photos. It feels timeless, warm, and full of personality. It’s the kind of backdrop that instantly makes images feel cozy and connected.
As much as I love the location, what makes this story even sweeter is the family I got to photograph there. I truly believe it was fate that brought them into my life. We met through our daughters at school—both of us were new to the area, and our girls instantly became friends in their very first grade class. Now, fast forward two years later, and they just started third grade yesterday! Watching them grow up together and form such a strong bond has been one of the highlights of our family’s move here.
The connection didn’t just stop with the kids. The mama has become one of my closest friends, and the dads? They bonded over golf, of course. We’ve shared family dinners, endless school events, and even vacationed together this past summer. It’s such a joy to have not only clients but true friends who are part of our everyday lives.
That’s what I love most about being a photographer. Yes, I adore finding beautiful new places to shoot, but even more than that, it’s about the relationships that grow along the way. Every session tells a story, and for me, this one will always remind me of both a new favorite location and a friendship I’m so grateful for.
Love what you see and in the Murrieta area? Reach out!

How much do they charge to shoot here??
I believe it’s $50/hr.
Hey Melissa. I’m a local photographer in the Murrieta/temecula area and I was wondering where that barn is! It’s a beautiful location and would love to do some shoots there!
Hi Jordan, This beautiful location is a private residence and the new owners unfortunately don’t allow photographers to shoot there anymore. 🙁 The old owners were photographers themselves and they were nice to rent their property to us.
