Meet Baby Dylan Lou | Temecula Newborn Photographer

Welcoming a new baby into the family is one of life’s greatest joys, and for this sweet family, the arrival of baby Dylan Lou made their hearts (and their alphabet!) complete. As a Temecula newborn photographer, I love learning the unique stories behind each family I photograph — and Dylan’s story is one her parents and siblings will treasure forever.

How Baby Dylan Got Her Name

Naming Dylan was no small task! All of the family’s kids carry middle names that honor their grandparents, so that part was easy. But finding the perfect first name to fit was trickier.

With older siblings named Abigail, Blake, and Charlee, the parents quickly realized they had accidentally created an “ABC” theme. When it came time for baby number four, it felt only natural to continue the pattern with a “D” name.

Finding a “D” name that felt sweet and timeless was a challenge, especially since their golden retriever already had dibs on the name Daisy! In the end, they made a list of names that paired well with her chosen middle name, and once she arrived, Dylan Lou just felt right.

The Birth Story

While nothing dramatic happened during her birth (thankfully!), her parents admit they were nervous about the 35-minute drive to the hospital. No roadside delivery story here — Dylan made her entrance safely after a smooth induction and about 12 hours of waiting.

Life as a Family of Six

One of the best parts of Dylan’s newborn session was watching her big siblings get involved. They helped choose props and little details, and when the family received their portraits back, the kids proudly remembered what they had helped select. These are the little moments that make newborn portraits so meaningful — everyone has a hand in preserving the memories.

Her parents shared that Dylan looks most like her big sister, Abigail, and that being able to slow down and appreciate each stage of childhood has been the sweetest part of parenting so far.

Why Newborn Portraits Were a Must

Mom shared something that so many parents feel: the newborn stage is over in the blink of an eye. Between sleepless nights and adjusting as a family, it can feel like a blur.

She explained it best:

You are absolutely exhausted and there is no real way around it. This is the best way to capture those sweet memories that you may not have otherwise.

That’s exactly why investing in newborn photography is so important. The stage is fleeting, but printed portraits and albums become heirlooms you’ll hold onto long after those first weeks have passed.

Advice for Expecting Parents

Her advice to new parents is simple and so true:

Everyone is going to have advice — take it all with a grain of salt. What works for one baby won’t always work for another. Be flexible! This stage will go so quickly, get all of the baby snugs that you can.

Looking Ahead

This year, the family is looking forward to turning a work trip into a family vacation in Hawaii — a memory-making adventure that will no doubt add even more joy to their story. Maybe they can pack me in their suitcase so I can tag along and do a family session for them in paradise…..just thinking out loud here 🙂
